Amon Amarth is a Swedish Viking metal band from Tumba, Sweden. Formed in 1992, they have released ten studio albums, one live album, one compilations album and seventeen music videos. The band’s lyrics are mainly related to Norse mythology and engagements, drawing further inspiration from Nordic culture and Viking history. Their music is characterized by melodic instrumentation, powerful vocals and powerful/aggressive musical style. To-date, Amon Amarth has sold well over 350,000 albums domestically in Sweden and they continue to tour the world and be a fixture in the metal scene.
