Billy Cobham is a legendary jazz and rock drummer who has graced the music world with his innovative playing style for over five decades. Born on May 16th 1944, Billy first made his name as the drummer for jazz fusion giants, Mahavishnu Orchestra, who gained acclaim with releases such as The Inner Mounting Flame. He went on to form his own fusion band, Spectrum, and recorded a number of solo albums that feature landmark recordings with renowned jazz figures. He has also worked with a variety of major jazz fusion, jazz, soul, funk and rock artists and groups such as George Duke, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Stanley Clarke. In recent years, he has continued to tour and record with his own band and collaborate with other jazz and rock groups.
