Brad Mehldau is an influential jazz pianist and composer. He is renowned for his impressive technique, improvisational skill, and ability to combine musical styles. Mehldau initially gained recognition in the '90s with a series of trio recordings, successfully melding together jazz and classical repertoire. He has subsequently released a number of critically acclaimed collaborations and solo albums, ranging from interpretations of the classic songbook to his own compositions. He has also performed with a wide range of contemporary musicians, producing jazz-inflected interpretations of more popular music styles. Mehldau's influence can be felt through his collaborations, solo albums, and his teaching at the New School.
