Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is an indie rock band started in 2004. Originally an independent project by frontman Alec Ounsworth, the project ended up receiving major label attention after a successful MySpace presence. After signing with V2 Records, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah released their self-titled debut album in 2005. The album was well-received, allowing them to release three more full-lengths: Some Loud Thunder in 2007, Hysterical in 2011, and The Tourist in 2016. These albums pursued new sonic directions for the band based on influences as diverse as punk rock to folk-rock. The band has maintained intermittent activity over the years, performing shows and releasing singles and EPs. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah largely remain an underground force but remain active and successful in spite of frequent lineup changes.
