Current 93 is an experimental music group led by English singer, songwriter, and musician, David Tibet. Since its formation in 1982, the band's line-up and sound have constantly evolved, ranging from experimental folk and neofolk, to acoustic drones, industrial noise, and apocalyptic folk.

In its earlier days, Current 93 was strongly influenced by folk and apocalyptic visions, and often focused on occult and mystic lyrics and themes. It has also worked to incorporate diverse musical elements, ranging from classical and Middle Eastern music to Dutch choir singing and Indian raga.

As the project evolved, its music moved further away from folk towards ambience and experimentalism. Over the years, Current 93 has established itself as one of the most eccentric and unpredictable acts in the field of post-industrial music.

In addition to their compelling music, Current 93 is also known for their interactive live shows, which incorporate poetry, film and theatrical performances.
