Dave Alvin is an American singer-songwriter who has had a long and celebrated career as a folk-rock, blues, and country musician. He started his career as part of the punk-rock band The Blasters, where he and his brother Phil Alvin made a name for themselves with their hard-edged blend of rockabilly and traditionalist Americana. As a solo artist Dave achieved critical acclaim with the release of his first full-length album ‘Romance & Irony’ in 1984, since then he has released nearly 20 solo albums and several with his brother The Blasters. He has experimented throughout his career, playing blues classics and traditional American songs as well as modern rock. Dave Alvin continues to be an active and successful musician, regularly releasing new material and touring with his own band, The Guilty Ones.
