De Staat is a Dutch alternative rock/progressive pop band from Nijmegen, Netherlands. The band consists of four members; Vedran Mircetic (lead vocals/guitar), Roald van Oosten (vocals/bass guitar), Tim van Delft (drums), and Jop van Summeren (Guitar/vocals). De Staat have been described as a mix of stoner rock, funk-like grooves, coupled with quirky vocal delivery and complex rhythms that people describe as extraordinary.

Having formed in 2006, De Staat quickly made a name for themselves with their creative music influenced by artists from Jimi Hendrix to Danger Mouse.
