DJ Drama is an American hip-hop artist, DJ, and record executive from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began DJing in high school and released his major-label debut album Gangsta Grillz: The Album Vol. 1 in 2007. DJ Drama has earned widespread recognition and critical acclaim for his production and mixtape series, Gangsta Grillz, which helped launch the careers of many Southern hip-hop stars. He has worked and collaborated with many of the industry's top rappers, including T.I., Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, and more. He also had his own television series, Gangsta Grillz, on Fuse TV. In addition, he was appointed as A&R for Atlantic Records in 2011 and in 2020 was made President of Atlantic's Urban Division. DJ Drama continues to be an innovative force in the world of rap music.
