Johann Fust was a pivotal figure in the early history of printing, known for his partnership with Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of the movable-type printing press. Born around 1400 in Mainz, Germany, Fust initially worked as a financier, providing Gutenberg with the capital needed to develop and perfect his groundbreaking printing techniques. After a business dispute, Fust took over the printing operations, continuing the production of books, most notably completing the Gutenberg Bible. His collaboration with his son-in-law, Peter Schöffer, helped to further advance the art of printing, significantly contributing to the spread of printed literature across Europe.
