Il Volo is an Italian operatic pop trio that was formed in 2009. It consists of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. They gained international fame following their performance of Nessun dorma during the Sanremo Music Festival in 2015. The trio has had numerous successful hits in Italy and other countries, including a Spanish language version of the Gershwin's Summertime and Grandes Amores. Il Volo has shared the stage with other popular musical artists such as Barbra Streisand and Ricky Martin. They have also participated in music competitions such as the Sanremo Music Festival and represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015.
