Iron & Wine is an Americana/folk-rock music project led by singer/songwriter Sam Beam. Since emerging from the music blog scene in 2002, Iron & Wine has become one of the most highly acclaimed artists of the folk-rock genre, releasing a total of 6 albums and selling out venues all over the world. Beam's signature sound, which melds acoustic instrumentation with unique narratives and poetic lyrics, has earned him a 2002 SXSW award and a nod from Paste Magazine as the best singer/songwriter of 2008. Iron & Wine has also released nine EPs, three compilation albums, and a collaborative EP with Band of Horses. The project has seen Beam collaborating with a number of top-tier artists, including Emmylou Harris, Calexico, and Ben Bridwell, and has been featured in popular films such as Twilight and Garden State.
