Jimmie Dale Gilmore is an American singer-songwriter and actor from Lubbock, Texas. His deeply personal, stylistically eclectic music is mostly influenced by Outlaw Country, Red Dirt, Texas Country, and Folk. His career has spanned over four decades, and in that time he has released several solo albums, as well as two Grammy-nominated collaborations with singer/songwriter/producer Joe Ely, namely Flatland andLive at Antone's. His 1999 solo album, Braver Newer World, received critical acclaim and put Gilmore onto the national music scene. Since then he has released seven more albums as a solo artist, collaborated with various artists and musicians, and become an actor, appearing in TV shows, films, and theatre productions. Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen has said of Gilmore: “He's one of the best singers to ever come out of Texas and he's a great writer as well.”
