Joe McElderry is an English singer from South Shields in the UK. He rose to fame after winning the sixth series of the X Factor in 2009, making him the youngest contestant ever to win the show. Following the success of his victory, McElderry released his debut album, Wide Awake, which went straight to number one in the UK album charts. He has since released four more studio albums all containing a variety of jazz, pop, and classical music styles. McElderry has also undertaken an extensive tour of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. In addition to his singing career, McElderry is also known for his extensive charity work, raising money for a range of charities including Help for Heroes.
