Leonard Cohen (1934-2016) was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, novelist, and painter. He is one of the most acclaimed and influential songwriters of the 20th century, influencing multiple generations of singers. He began his musical career in 1960 with a debut album "Songs Of Leonard Cohen". He was known for being a master of song writing, specializing in dark lyrics and tales of love, heartache and life’s struggles. Through his lengthy career Cohen wrote more than 1,000 songs. He was inducted into both the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame and the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was also given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He released his final album "You Want it Darker” in 2016, shortly before his death. Leonard Cohen will continue to be remembered for his meaningful and beautiful music.
