Local H is an alternative rock duo formed in Zion, Illinois, in the early 1990s. After two years of heavy touring throughout the Midwest, the group released their debut EP, Mammoth, in 1993. This was quickly followed by their first full-length album, Ham Fisted, in 1995. The album's success led to the 1996 release of their critically-acclaimed follow-up, As Good as Dead.

The duo has gone on to release 15 studio albums total, all of which contain a noted blend of punk, post-hardcore, and alternative rock. Their 1998 release Pack Up the Cats, was the most successful, spawning the singles " Bound for the Floor" and "Eddie Vedder", which both made it to the modern rock top 40 chart. Since then, Local H has continued to perform and record, and toured the U.S. numerous times.
