About Los Kjarkas
Los Kjarkas is a Bolivian folk music group formed by brothers Wimampu, Miguel, and Saul Zapata in 1982 in Toco, in the department of La Paz. They are known for combining traditional Aymara music from Bolivia with modern Latin American rhythms such as Peru's famous "festejo" and local huayno. The group has achieved tremendous success in the last three decades, becoming one of the most popular Latin Music bands of its time in Bolivia, Peru, Chile, and countries throughout Central and South America. Los Kjarkas has independently produced and released over 20 albums, with hits like "Lamento de Mi Tierra," "Tres Notas Para Decir Te Quiero," and "A Todo el Mundo." In 2012, they won a Latin Grammy in the Best Folk Album category for their album "Traditions." Today, Los Kjarkas remains a popular live concert favorite and
