Municipal Waste is a thrash metal/crossover thrash band from Richmond, Virginia, who started in 2000. The band is known for its humorous lyrics which often contain satirical elements and topics such as horror films, binge drinking, and '80s culture. They have released five full-length studio albums, a mini-album/EP titled Squat the Condos, a digital-only release titled The Fatal Feast, and two splits. The band has toured with multiple bands, including DRI, High on Fire, and Napalm Death. Municipal Waste also made multiple festival appearances, such as Wacken Open Air, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and All Tomorrow's Parties. Municipal Waste is considered a cult classic in the metal world, with multiple successful albums.
