Ozomatli is an American Latin-American, funk, hip-hop, and world music band formed in Los Angeles in 1995. Founded by charasmatic vocalist Wil-Dog Abers and bassist Ulises Bella, they are known for their educational and social message-oriented lyrical content. Ozomatli has released seven studio albums, two live albums, one greatest hits album, and has won three Grammy awards. Over the course of their career, the band has experimented with different musical genres and collaborated with other artists to create an eclectic music style that blends elements of funk, soul, and Latin music. They have also promoted non-profit causes, such as immigration reform and voting rights for political prisoners, as part of their musical and social platforms.
