The Pointer Sisters are an American R&B/funk vocal group that originally comprised sisters June, Bonnie, and Anita Pointer and Ruth Pointer-Hunt. The group's members have changed over the decades with Anita and Bonnie being the most consistent elements of the group.

The Pointer Sisters achieved mainstream success in the 1970s and 1980s with songs such as "Jump (For My Love)," "I'm So Excited," and "Automatic." During the 1980s, the Pointer Sisters became the first African American female group to come up with a Billboard number-one single, with their hit "Neutron Dance."

The group's recordings have earned them an incredible 21 Grammy Award nominations, of which they won three. Through the years, the Pointer Sisters have signed to many major record labels, including RCA, Motown, Planet, Blue Thumb, Planet/Uni and Columbia.
