Roberto Fonseca is a Cuban jazz pianist, composer and musical improviser from Havana, Cuba. He began his musical career in 1992 and has since become one of the leading names in modern Cuban jazz. Fonseca has been praised for his virtuosity and for blending traditional Cuban elements such as Yoruba, Santeria, and Rumba with progressive music such as jazz, funk, soul, and electronic music. He has released multiple solo albums as well as collaborations with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, singer Ibrahim Ferrer, and the Buena Vista Social Club. Fonseca has toured extensively around the world and was awarded a Grammy in 2017 for his album 'ABUC'. He continues to create new music and offers master classes in jazz improvisation.
