About Roger McGuinn
Roger McGuinn is an American singer-songwriter and musician who first gained fame as the frontman for the folk-rock band The Byrds. In the mid-1960s, McGuinn co-founded the band and used his signature Rickenbacker electric twelve-string guitar playing to pioneer a jangly, chiming style that some have called the "jingle jangle" sound. The Byrds had a string of hits throughout the late 1960s, including their classics "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Turn! Turn! Turn!," and "Eight Miles High." McGuinn went on to solo success following the dissolution of the Byrds in 1973, releasing critically-acclaimed albums like Thunderbyrd and Peace on You. In addition to touring with a backing band for much of the 1980s and 1990s, McGuinn also reunited with the original Byrds lineup for a successful tour in 1989 and another tour and album in 1990. He remains an influential figure
