Roots Manuva is an English rapper and producer who has been a major part of the UK underground hip hop scene since the late 90s. He is credited with pioneering an innovative, experimental sound championed by the Big Dada record label. His blend of hip-hop, dub, reggae and funk, alongside his distinctive, witty rhymes, have made him a widely acknowledged and critically acclaimed figure in the music world.

Throughout his career, Roots Manuva has released five full length albums, starting with his debut album Brand New Second Hand in 1999. He has also released a number of EPs, singles, and mixtapes over the years and collaborated on projects with the likes of Gorillaz, Leftfield, and Robert Smith from The Cure. His work has earned him numerous awards, including two MOBOs, and two nominations for the Mercury Prize.
