He has been working with jazz, funk, and Latin music for more than four decades, and is credited as one of the pioneers of Acid Jazz in Europe. His first two solo albums on Acid Jazz Records, A Night in Brazil and The Lost Tribes of Ibadan established him as a pioneer of the new Latin jazz wave.

He also released solo projects collaborating with artists from all over the world, and has re-scored and re-orchestrated professional recordings from the Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Funk, Soul, and Salsa music of South America and the Caribbean.
