Sonata Arctica is a power metal band from Kemi, Finland. Founded in 1996, the band is known for intensely melodic metal and dynamic front man Tony Kakko’s soaring vocals. They have released ten studio albums, one live album, two EPs, two compilation albums, and sixteen singles. Their first album, Ecliptica, was released in 1999 to critical acclaim and spawned their first hit single, “Fullmoon”. Since then, they have toured extensively around the world and have landed several hits on the Finnish music charts. In 2015, Sonata Arctica released their tenth studio album, Pariah’s Child, which won the 2014 Emma Award for Best Metal Album.
