The Souljazz Orchestra is a unique, highly original and energetic band from Ottawa, Canada. Combining rhythms from Afrobeat, Latin, jazz, funk and reggae with a soulful horn section, they create a unique sound. Their live performances draw heavily from the musical influences of the members, with each one incorporating their own musical influences in the mix. Founded in 2002 by bassist Pierre Chrétien, The Souljazz Orchestra released its debut album, Freedom No Go Die, in 2005 and began touring extensively. By combining a love for vintage and contemporary music, they have created their own signature sound that has made them well known across the world. Subsequent albums have seen the group move towards a more ambitious production approach, with the band often working with producers from all over the globe. They continue to tour and make music to this day, releasing their latest album, Chaos Theories, in 2021.
