Wisin Y Yandel are a reggaeton duo from Puerto Rico who is considered pioneers in the Latin urban music scene. Consisting of Luis Francisco "Wisin" Ortiz and Llandel Veguilla "Yandel" Malave Gamí, the duo began their career in 1998 and achieved international success in the 2000s with Latin pop tracks featuring collaborations with Marc Anthony, Daddy Yankee, and Jennifer Lopez. Their debut album, De Nuevos a Viejos was released in 1999, followed by La Revolución in 2003, which spawned singles such as “Rakata” and “Noche de Entierro” and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA.
