Country music legend George Strait has announced his return to Clemson University's Memorial Stadium—affectionately known as "Death Valley"—for a special in-the-round concert on May 2, 2026. This performance marks Strait's first appearance at the venue since 1999, when he headlined the last concert held there. Joining him for this one-night-only event are acclaimed artists Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale on October 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster. Fans can anticipate an immersive experience, with the 360-degree stage setup ensuring optimal views from all angles.
Reflecting on his return, Strait expressed his enthusiasm: "Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special. Can't wait to see you, Clemson!"
Strait's recent performances have drawn massive crowds. In 2024, his concert at Texas A&M's Kyle Field set a record with 110,905 attendees, one of the largest single-ticketed concerts in U.S. history. His 2025 stadium shows continued this trend, selling out venues across the country.
Beyond his live performances, Strait's contributions to music are being recognized with prestigious honors. He is set to be honored at the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors this December and will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in early 2026.
Fans eager to witness the "King of Country" live should mark their calendars for this historic return to Clemson's Memorial Stadium.
