About Satinder Sartaaj
Satinder Sartaaj is a renowned Indian classical singer, songwriter, poet, and actor. He is the most prominent vocalist in the world of Punjabi music. Born and raised in Punjab, Sartaaj attracted attention with his debut album Sawa Lakh Se Ek Ladaun in 2004. He won a Gold Record Award from WorldMusic in 2007 for the Best Selling Album of the Year, making him the first Punjabi artist to win a major music award.
His latest album, Seven Rivers, released in 2020, is inspired by Sufi and folk music traditions. Sartaaj has also released multiple acclaimed films, such as 'The Black Prince', 'Two Brothers', and 'Colour of Life'. He also has featured in Asoka, a 2001 period drama released in the United States and India.
