About Adelaide Symphony Orchestra
The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra is a world-class classical music ensemble that has been performing together since 1936. They have their home in South Australia, where they perform across the state and around Australia. The Orchestra has performed the works of many of the great composers of the classical era, including Beethoven, Debussy, and Haydn, as well as symphonic works from the twentieth century and modern music from around the world. Their performances take place in the splendid setting of Adelaide Town Hall, where the audience is often moved to tears by the passion and refinement of the music played. The Orchestra also regularly tours internationally, performing at notable concerts and festivals such as the BBC Proms, Taiwan’s Taipei International Arts Festival, and New York’s Mostly Mozart Festival. For almost eighty years, they have been performing to critical acclaim and delighting audiences worldwide.
