Aesop Rock is a critically acclaimed hip hop artist from San Francisco, California. Making his debut in 1996 with the album Music for the Social Outcast, he gained notoriety as a member of the crew The Weathermen and strengthened his reputation with his self-produced solo albums Labor Days (2001) and Float (2000). His unique style is defined by abstract lyricism with complex, multi-layered wordplay over hard-hitting beats. Aesop Rock has gone on to collaborate with underground artists from across the hip hop circles, and has received worldwide recognition for his unique and lyrically-dense style of rap. He is also the founder and owner of the label Rhymesayers Entertainment.
