About African Head Charge
African Head Charge are a dub/reggae band formed in the early 1980s, originally from Brixton in London, England. They are primarily known for their distinctive experimental style of music, with elements of dub, world music, hip-hop, psychedelic sounds, and various African influences. The band, led by composer and producer Adrian Sherwood, have released several critically acclaimed albums, including My Darling Dear (1985), Environmental Studies (1989), Off the Beaten Track (1991), and In Pursuit of Shashamane Land (1991). Their music has been used extensively in films, television shows and advertisements, and they have appeared at many festivals. African Head Charge have also collaborated with a number of other musicians, including Jah Wobble, Tackhead (in which bandmate Bonjo Iyabinghi Noah also played), and The Orb.
