Angelic Upstarts is an English punk rock band, formed in South Shields in 1977. Lead by singer Mensi, their lyrics are often politically motivated and they have been referred to as a punk rock supergroup. Over their decades-long career they have released eighteen studio albums, as well as various EPs, singles and compilations.

Their most successful studio records are 1979’s ‘Teenage Warning’ and 1982’s ‘Two Million Voices’, which peaked at number 12 in the UK Album Charts. They also achieved commercial success with two top forty singles – ‘The Murderer’ and ‘Never Say Die’. The band has since reunited for numerous tours and festivals, and continue to tour and perform new music to this day.
