About Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a renowned Indian musician who was born in 1979. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar, who is considered one of the greatest living exponents of the sitar. Anoushka is trained in Indian classical music and has collaborated with a variety of Western musicians, from Pete Townshend to Sting.

Anoushka debuted her first album in 1998 and has since released 12 studio albums. She has won two Grammy Awards, the June 2007 BBC Radio 3 Award for World Music, and two Songlines Magazine Music Awards at the UK Remix Awards. Her latest album, Love Letters was released in 2019.

Anoushka has also been heavily involved with the Menuhin Competition and has taken great strides as a sitar teacher. She has been on the executive board for the Ravi Shankar Foundation since 2010 and continues to work with young musicians and arts organizations.
