Avalanche is a band from Germany, known for their progressive rock and symphonic metal sound. Their first three albums, "End of Silence", "The Sum of All Fears" and "Libreto Aeternus" established their distinctive blend of symphonic metal, progressive rock and neoclassical influences, and earned them a gothic metal award in Italy for their third album. Their next two albums, "Depths" and "Destructive Interference", featured heavier and more progressive metal influences, followed by an album release called "AC-11" which was an experimentalist approach featuring drone and ambient influences. Since 2004, the band has released 5 studio albums. To date, they have become one of the most successful European heavy metal bands, and are widely appreciated for their unique sound.
