About Bernard Fanning
Bernard Fanning is an Australian singer-songwriter originally from Brisbane. He is best known as the frontman and lead singer for the iconic rock band Powderfinger. Fanning released his first solo album, Tea & Sympathy, in 2005 to critical acclaim and has since released four more studio albums. His solo material has been heavily blues and folk influenced, with its lyrical content focusing on personal reflection and stories of everyday life. Fanning has credited Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Paul Kelly as his influences. He has also seen success at the ARIA Music Awards, winning Best Male Artist in 2006 and Album of the Year in 2010. Along with his solo work Fanning is an accomplished touring musician, performance poet, and occasional actor.
