Camper Van Beethoven is an American alternative rock band formed in 1983 in Redlands, California. Known for their eclectic sound that blends elements of folk, ska, punk, and world music, they gained attention with their 1985 single "Take the Skinheads Bowling." The band was founded by David Lowery, Chris Molla, and Victor Krummenacher, later seeing lineup changes that included Jonathan Segel and Greg Lisher. They gained a cult following for their innovative and quirky musical style, and after disbanding in 1990, they reunited in 1999 and continue to perform and release new music. Their adventurous spirit and genre-defying approach have left an indelible mark on the alternative music scene.
