Chris Abrahams is an Australian musician, pianist and composer from Sydney, Australia. He has been active in the music industry since the early 2000s, both performing live and releasing recordings with his solo work and in collaboration with other artists. He is best known as the pianist and one of the founding members of the instrumental trio The Necks.
Chris Abrahams has an expansive and critically acclaimed solo discography. His style has been credited to a wide variety of influences, including classical, modern composition, avant-garde jazz, jazz-funk and modern classical. His released recordings span myriad electronic and acoustic instrumentation, often mixing improvisation with delicate, complex rhythmic and harmonic structures.
Amongst his notable collaborations, he has performed and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Tony Buck, Lloyd Swanton, Jim Denley, Oren Ambarchi and others. Abrahams also continues to perform and record extensively with The Necks.
