Deerhunter is an Atlanta based post punk, indie rock band formed in 2001. The band's music has been featured in the popular show Girls on HBO and their song "Helicopter" was featured in the movie Twilight. The band has released six studio albums since their debut in 2005, with their most recent titled “Fading Frontier” in 2015. The band is known for their ambient and electronic sound, with a mix of indie, garage rock, shoegaze, and noise rock elements. Live Deerhunter performances have gained praise, as the band often performs loud and passionate shows, often featuring the band experimenting with different songs and textures. In 2017, Deerhunter was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
