Fontaines D.C. is a post-punk quintet from Dublin, Ireland. They began their rock venture three years ago in college, from the ruins of other brands and through a shared passion for poetry. To this date, none of their poems have transposed into lyrics. Their journey into the music world started in 2017, with the band self-releasing singles. In May 2018, they played the KEXP, in Seattle which saw the pissed off part-time poets gaining more publicity into the United States market. They've quickly caught on to the public, and their album debut "Dogrel" was released in April 2019, containing songs that connect and pay homage to the working-class poetry in Ireland. Post-punk bands like the Fontaines D.C. are revitalizing the music space as they become a musical necessity in the new millennium.
