Grandaddy is an American indie rock group formed in 1992 in Modesto, California. The band consists of Jason Lytle (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), Kevin Garcia (bass guitar, backing vocals), Aaron Burtch (drums, percussion) and Jim Fairchild (guitar, backing vocals). Since forming, Grandaddy have released five full length albums and one EP. Their most recognised work is the 2000 album 'The Sophtware Slump' which has been classified as a classic of indie rock. The band achieved success in the early 2000s with the singles 'A.M. 180', 'Jeds Other Poem' and 'He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's The Pilot'. The band's music is unique in its combination of various musical genres like alt-country, lo-fi indie rock, and psychedelia.
