About High Voltage
High Voltage is an English hard rock band, formed in 1975, that rose to fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band was founded by former Deep Purple vocalist/guitarist Dave Coverdale. They released their self-titled debut album in 1975, which reached the top-twenty in the United Kingdom. In 1976, they released their second album, Straight Shooter, which was a commercial success, reaching the top five. The follow-up album, Long Live Rock 'n' Roll was released in 1978, and generated their biggest hit, “Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City”. The band released two albums in 1979, Wild Street and Ready for Action, and briefly toured in 1980 before disbanding. High Voltage reunited five years later in 1985, and released another album in 1989, but the band has been inactive since.
