Jamila Woods is an American singer-songwriter, poet and activist based in Chicago, Illinois. She is a classically trained vocalist, who draws influences from neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop, spoken word and R&B. She is well-known for her work with Vic Mensa, Chance The Rapper and Macklemore. Her debut album 'HEAVN' was released in July 2016, and was met with critical acclaim from music critics around the globe. She then went on to feature on Kanye West’s critically acclaimed album 'The Life of Pablo', and released her second album ‘Legacy! Legacy’ in May 2019. A true artist in every sense of the word, Jamila is also the founder of the non-profit organization Young Black Owners, focused on advancing the presence of black ownership, artistry and equity amongst youth in her hometown of Chicago.
