Jet is an Australian rock band formed in 2001 in Melbourne, Australia. The founding members Nic Cester, Cam Muncey, Chris Cester, Mark Wilson, and Doug Armstrong are originally from the suburb of Melbourn. The band released its debut, Get Born, in 2003 to critical and commercial success, reaching number three on the ARIA Albums Chart and producing the number-one single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". The album has since been certified five times platinum in Australia.

Jet's follow-up album, Shine On, released in 2006, reached number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified four times platinum. After disbanding in 2012, Jet regrouped in 2016 and are now in the process of releasing a third LP, Shaka Rock Deluxe, sometime in 2020.
