John Prine is a renowned folk singer-songwriter whose career spans five decades, with his first album released in 1971. He has released sixteen studio albums to date, and was made an inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020. His music manages to bridge the gap between folk, country, bluegrass and Americana, with lyrical themes ranging from upbeat to deeply melancholic. He has been credited for writing some of the most profound lyricism of modern music, including his most famous single “Angel from Montgomery”.
