Le Tigre is a punk-inspired electro-dance trio formed in 1998 by feminist pioneers, Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson. Since their formation, Le Tigre has released three full-length albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1999; "Feminist Sweepstakes" in 2001; and "This Island" in 2004. Their music was heavily influenced by the Riot Grrrl scene of the early '90s, and their lyrics addressed feminist-related topics. They also collaborated with other like-minded artists, including The Faint, Peaches, and and Devo. In 2007, the band announced their indefinite hiatus, and all three of the members continued to pursue individual endeavors. In 2018, Le Tigre reformed and released a memoir, Le Tigre: On Tour.
