Live is an American rock band from York, Pennsylvania, that formed in the 80s. They rose to fame with the release of their album Mental Jewelry in 1991. It featured the hit singles "Operation Spirit (The Tyranny of Tradition)" and "Pain Lies on the Riverside". The band then cemented their popular status with the platinum certified album Throwing Copper in 1994. This album produced 8 Billboard US Mainstream Rock Top 20 Hits, including the number one singles "Lightning Crashes" and "Selling the Drama", as well as chart-topping hits like "I Alone" and "All Over You". Live is also credited for pioneering the alternative rock sound that emerged in the 90s. The band is still active today, on tour with a live lineup of regulars Ed Kowalczyk, Chad Taylor, Patrick Dahlheimer, and Chad Gracey.
