Mary Coughlan is an Irish jazz-folk artist hailing from Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland. She is known for her powerful, passionate voice and captivating lyrics detailing the traditional Irish culture and experience. Since 1985, when she released her debut album "Tired and Emotional," Coughlan has become one of the most respected Irish singer-songwriters, with 10 consecutive studio albums. Her unique style has made her an internationally celebrated icon and she has been twice short listed for the Mercury Prize. Coughlan has collaborated with some of the world's greatest composers, arrangers, singers, and instrumentalists to explore a variety of musical genres, including jazz, folk, R&B, and blues. Throughout her career, she has toured extensively in Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, and has performed with musicians such as Mark Knopfler, Brian Kennedy, The Corrs, and Van Morrison, among many others.
