Matt Nathanson is an American musician from the Bay Area. He has been making acoustic-based rock music in various forms and styles since the early 1990s. His breakthrough album, Beneath These Fireworks, was released in 2003 and featured the hit singles "Laid" and "Come On Get Higher." Since then, he has released several successful albums, including Last of the Great Pretenders, some Mad World, and Sings His Sad Heart.
