Pig Destroyer is an extreme metal band from Washington D.C. The group consists of vocalist/lyricist J.R. Hayes, guitarist Scott Hull, drummer Adam Jarvis, and bassist John Jarvis. Their musical style is mainly grindcore, though they have also incorporated elements of metalcore, death metal, and hardcore punk into their sound. They are well-known for their raw and aggressive sound. Pig Destroyer has been active since 1997 and released 6 studio albums over the years. Their earliest releases were genre-defining grindcore albums that set the stage for the group’s later releases, which have focused on more diverse musical approaches. The band’s most recent album, “Head Cage” was released in 2018 and was, according to some, their most accessible and creative album yet.
