About Queensland Symphony Orchestra

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected performing arts organizations. Established in 1945 as the Brisbane Municipal Orchestra, QSO has become one of Australia’s premier orchestras, earning a reputation for performing some of the best classical, jazz, and pop music in the world. The symphony performs at numerous events throughout the year, including charity and fundraising concerts, frequent appearances at Brisbane’s Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the music industry. In addition to their work in Queensland, QSO has traveled internationally, performing in such places as the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and South Korea, and they recently completed their first world tour. The orchestra also frequently records, releasing various albums, and scores for film and television.
